Mindfulness Coaching

Mindfulness coaching helps you develop and enhance the skill of mindfulness using the key principles of non-judgment, openness, acceptance, curiosity, and compassion. Mindfulness is a simple and direct practice of moment-to-moment observation of the mind-body process through calm and focused awareness without judgment. Dispassionately observing your mental processes allows great insight into habitual ways of thinking, and it has a profound power to alleviate stress and suffering. Rather than rehearsing or rehashing our lives, we can allow ourselves to live in the here and now.

Rates:

$75 for 60 minutes, $40 for 30 minutes

Mindfulness Classes

Schedule weekly mindfulness classes tailored for your group, or a traditional eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction series (as created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn from the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society. These hour-long classes involve guided meditation (lying down, seated, walking), mindful movement that is accessible to all, large and small group discussion, and opportunity for reflection.

Almost 40 years of medical research has shown “consistent, reliable, and reproducible demonstrations of major and clinically relevant reductions in medical and psychological symptoms across a wide range of medical diagnoses, including many different chronic pain conditions, other medical diagnoses and in medical patients with a secondary diagnosis of anxiety and/or panic, over the eight weeks of the MBSR intervention, and maintenance of these changes in some cases for up to four years of follow-up.” (www.umassmed.edu/cfm/mindfulness-based-programs/mbsr-courses/about-mbsr/history-of-mbsr/)
